James Johnstone is a barrister and strategic adviser who has spent his career helping clients navigate complex and unfamiliar situations.

For more than twenty-five years, he has worked internationally with private clients, family offices and companies, on a wide range of high-stakes matters requiring discretion, clear judgment and coordination across multiple disciplines.

This has included engaging individuals and organisations operating at senior levels in government, the military and the private sector, as well as co-founding a firm that specialised in counter-corruption, integrity compliance and the law of armed conflict.

Much of his work involves situations where there is no existing structure, where multiple moving parts need to be brought together, and where decisions must be made clearly and quickly.
